Red Tattoo Ink

Red tattoo ink is a cause of concern for many people due to the contents it is made from. Many people are allergic to nickel a common component of red dye. Because dye manufactures aren’t required to disclose the information regarding the components used in a dye, it is uncertain if nickel may be present in the composition or not.

Red tattoo ink doesn’t have to contain harmful elements. There are organic dyes that will decrease the risk that one will have a reaction to it; however, the risk is still there. People who have sensitive skin, and cannot wear cheap jewelry should be concerned with red dye even if it is made from organic materials; however, each person is case specific.

Red tattoo ink does cause problems for some people but not all. Discuss the possible side effects with a trusted artist, and it is often a smart idea to receive a second opinion for safety purposes. Pink and orange are composed of red dye as well; however, a less concentrated amount. These colors should also be discussed with the artist before being used to prevent possible allergic reactions.
